Dr. Del graduated from UFF – Universidade Federal Fluminense dental school in Brazil in 1992. From 1992 to 1999 he was in private practice in Niteroi – Rio de Janeiro focusing on cosmetic dentistry. There was a high demand for cosmetic dentistry in Rio de Janeiro, since it is known as the number one city in the world for cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Del worked as a volunteer at his city’s hospital emergency room on weekends. In 1999, he was invited to work for a leading expert in cosmetic dentistry in the Boston area. He worked for two years in Boston, while also lecturing and doing research on new materials, equipment, and techniques related to smile makeovers. In 2001, he was invited to work in Santa Barbara and fell in love with this beautiful city, where he opened his own practice in 2003.
Dr. Del was recently honored with the prestigious “America’s Top Dentist” award, from Consumers Research Council.
Aside from dentistry, Dr. Del enjoys surfing, riding motorcycles, enjoying this beautiful area and spending time with his three dogs, Daisy, Baby, and Hoss. On Saturdays, Dr. Del visits the Dobie and Little Paws Rescue in Fillmore, CA to walk adoptable dogs. In fact, that’s where he got his newest fur-family addition, the Doberman, Hoss.
Dr. Del is a member of: Santa Barbara Dental Society, California Dental Association, American Dental Association and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
